Description
Join us to meet the new Wisconsin Psychiatry Extension (WISCOPE) team as we officially launch the expansion of Periscope into WISCOPE, extending psychiatric consultation services to support the care of adult patients across Wisconsin. Through four real-world clinical cases, WISCOPE psychiatrists will share evidence-based approaches to managing common psychiatric presentations in primary care settings, including dementia-related sundowning, substance use disorders, menopause-related mental health symptoms, and depression that has not responded adequately to initial SSRI treatment. Attendees will leave with practical clinical strategies and a clear understanding of how to partner with the WISCOPE team to enhance care for patients with complex behavioral health needs.

Objectives

  1. Apply evidence-based approaches to the evaluation and management of common psychiatric presentations, including menopause-related symptoms, substance use disorders, dementia-related sundowning, and depression that has not responded adequately to initial SSRI treatment.
  2. Describe the consultation services and clinical expertise offered by the Wisconsin Psychiatry Extension psychiatrist team.
  3. Identify strategies for integrating Wisconsin Psychiatry Extension consultation services into clinical practice to enhance the care of patients with complex behavioral health needs.
