Meet the Periscope Project Team
The Periscope Project is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, administrators, and staff.
Clinical Team
The Clinical Team includes dedicated physicians responsible for the Periscope Project services. Their aim is to increase statewide access to high quality, evidence based perinatal mental health care.
Christina L. Wichman, DO
Dr. Wichman is the Periscope Project Medical Director and responsible for the Project’s clinical services. She is a Professor of Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynecology; and Director of Women’s Mental Health at Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Wichman is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and Psychosomatic Medicine.
As the Periscope Project Medical Director, Dr. Wichman provides teleconsultation services and oversees perinatal psychiatrists staffing the consultation line. She is passionate about sharing her expertise with other health care providers and looks to build connections across geographical boundaries.

Elizabeth (Lizzie) Maxwell Hovis, MD
Dr. Hovis is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Her clinical interests include Perinatal Mental Health, Perinatal Substance Use Disorders and Emergency Psychiatry. Dr. Hovis completed medical school at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, residency in General Adult Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin. In addition to her clinical roles, Dr. Hovis is a staff psychiatrist with The Periscope Project where she strives to improve access to quality care for patients struggling with mental health concerns during and following pregnancy.
Dr. Hovis provides teleconsultation service and provider education for the Periscope Project.

Staff Team
Shelby Kuehn, BA
Shelby is the Program Manager for the Periscope Project.
Shelby is responsible for overall project administration and coordination. She also provides back up triage coverage for the consultation line.

Andrea Zimmerman, BA
Andrea is the Senior Administrative Assistant for the Periscope Project.
Andrea provides primary triage coverage for the provider consultation line. She maintains Periscope’s social media accounts and community resource database.
Andrea has clinical experience working in the OB and Maternal Fetal Care Center at Froedtert Hospital. She also triaged calls and managed schedules for the PMH clinics at Froedtert Hospital.
